I need to go back to reading one book at a time! I was all over the place this summer, couldn’t stay focused, and now I have 5 or 6 books in progress, but I’m once again focusing on one at a time. The pile on my nightstand is driving me bonkers!

I read more than one book at a time. It’s easy to read non-fiction and fiction together. And often I have a book in the living room, the bedroom, the bathroom and the car. Basically I need to have one within arms reach all the time.

I try to read multiple books, but I usually feel so frazzled I end up focusing on just one.

I try and get meanings from the context, but I would love to do something like remember to write down the words I don’t know. I think it would be so much fun to learn their meanings but I never remember to do it!

I’m a “try to get it from context” kind of gal. If I have no idea what the word means, I’ll either do a quick internet look-up or, if such is not immediately available to me, I’ll put a post-it flag on the page and look the word up when the opportunity presents itself.

I can – and DO – read several books at once. Not always, but often enough that I’m getting really good at it.

I’ve appreciated your word posts! I jot the words down on my bookmark (I’m loyal to the blank index card!) and look them up later. But I fail to garner them as you mention . . . you are correct! I wonder if making a sentence would help me? Perhaps I’ll try that for a bit to test it.

I read several books at once, but this works best when I have tons of reading time in one week so that all the books move forward. When I don’t have much reading time, there is always one book I’ve started and then put aside, requiring me to refresh my memory by a few pages (or restart it).
