Displaced and marginalized women are at particularly high risk of exploitation and domestic abuse. However, in many refugee communities around the world, violence to women often goes ignored by civil authorities. The inaction is justified as ‘respecting cultural differences.’ As long as male abusers are protected under the guise of political correctness, women do not have anywhere to turn.
