Read-a-thon Hour 1 Mini-Challenge: Introduction Meme

The first official read-a-thon post of the day! This is Darcie’s meme.

Where are you reading from today?
My couch, mostly. I may migrate to the chair in the sitting room, or take a break on the floor, though. 🙂 Oh, this is located in my home, which is located in Northwest Arkansas. Central time zone. USA.

3 facts about me:
• I’m looking forward to whatever my husband is going to cook for me to eat today. It may include fresh salsa and guacamole!

• I have way more books awaiting me that I’ll actually read in the next 24 hours.

• I don’t exactly know how many pages I read per hour; but I do know how many pages I can proofread an hour — I’m editing a really heavy tome (not today, though; I worked ahead so I could I take the weekend off) and my pages per hour is dismal. It was better on the previous book, though.

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Like I said above, I have what I’m thinking is waaaay too many books: 22. A few are YA books, though.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
Like I said in the last read-a-thon meme, nope, not tangible ones. I would like to get a good amount of books (and thus pages) read, and I want to post quite a bit here and read others’ posts as well.

Any advice for people doing this for the first time?
I haven’t done this before, so I don’t really have any advice to give … sorry.

  6. Thanks, all!

Eva— I dunno, how far away are you? I’m thinking guac doesn’t ship very well! 😉 (And yep, he’s great!)

  7. Mmm, guacamole! My husband is at the store getting food, and I should have asked him to buy guac ingredients!

What do you think? I'd love to know.
