Booking Through Thursday: Books as gifts, treats

btt2This week’s Booking Through Thursday questions: Do you give books as gifts? To everyone? Or only to select people? How do you feel about receiving books as gifts?

I do give books as gifts, but not to everyone. I give them to people who will appreciate them. I love receiving books as gifts, and I often get at least a couple books at Christmas — an Amazon wish list helps people know some books I want. 🙂

The other set of questions posted today is harder: What is the best book you ever bought for yourself? And, why? What made it the best? What made it so special?

I don’t often buy books for myself, which is what makes this hard to answer. In fact, I’m drawing a blank on a particularly special book purchase I’ve made for myself.

  1. Oh, girl! Buy yourself a book!

  2. Oh my! I second Nicole’s comment!!

  3. Hehe. 🙂

Thanks! I think I should wait until after Christmas, though.

  4. You don’t buy books for yourself?!? How do you do it. I would just fade away.

  5. Well … I usually get my books from the library, rather than buying them. I know, crazy.

  6. I am a library user, and I like to receive books and gift certificates to book stores, so I don’t buy too many books either. (So don’t let ’em make you feel badly.)

  7. Hey, book buying gives us an iunimaginable high! Do it!

    Here are my BTT posts:

    Booking through generosity

What do you think? I'd love to know.
