Have you ever been put off an author’s books after reading a biography of them? Or the reverse — a biography has made you love an author more?
I can honestly say I don’t read many biographies. I stick mostly to fiction.
One of the first biographies I read, which made me decide I could like biographies, was a biography of an author, though. That? Invincible Louisa by Cornelia Meigs, about Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women. I read the biography after having read many of the subject’s books, and it only made me love them more. Clearly, this is an instance of the biography spurring me to love the author more.
This is still a rare occurrence in my life, though. I just don’t read many biographies.
