Booking Through Thursday: TMI?

btt2This week’s Booking Through Thursday question, suggested by Simon Thomas, is:

Have you ever been put off an author’s books after reading a biography of them? Or the reverse — a biography has made you love an author more?

I can honestly say I don’t read many biographies. I stick mostly to fiction.

One of the first biographies I read, which made me decide I could like biographies, was a biography of an author, though. That? Invincible Louisa by Cornelia Meigs, about Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women. I read the biography after having read many of the subject’s books, and it only made me love them more. Clearly, this is an instance of the biography spurring me to love the author more.

This is still a rare occurrence in my life, though. I just don’t read many biographies.

  1. I like author interviews. Thats makes me appreciate a book more.

    Here is my BTT post!

  2. I read that biography too – twice, I think, when I went through my Alcott phase in elementary school. I loved it. Thanks for reminding me!

  3. I was kind of embarrased because I don’t think I’ve ever read an author’s biography. I’ve read a lot of biographies, just not about authors. Maybe someday.

What do you think? I'd love to know.
