Booking Through Thursday: Un-read

btt2This week’s Booking Through Thursday question, suggested by C in DC, is:

Is there a book that you wish you could “unread”? One that you disliked so thoroughly you wish you could just forget that you ever read it?

No, I really can’t think of any books I detest enough to want to forget reading them. I did think of a movie or two that I want my time back from watching, that I regret ever having viewed, but I can’t think of any books I feel that way about.

Don’t forget about my giveaway of The Night Watchman!

  1. Movies! Yes! Every time my husband and I finish watching a bad movie he says “I want that 2 hours of my life back.” 🙂

  2. Definitely some movies! But books no, though there are some I would not pick up to begin with.

  3. I totally agree… which is weird because a movie only takes a couple hours of my time, but books take longer. I wonder why that is?

  4. Many movies, but, more importantly, I wish I had never read The Alchemist. It was not something for which I had a choice in the first place, but still, I’d give anything to have that hour and a half back and remove the bad thoughts. Make them go away!

  5. Reading The Alchemist did one good thing for me. I stay away from Coelho!

  6. I haven’t encountered something that is irredeemably bad. Books that I want to “unread” are ones written by authors whose previous reads I have enjoyed. Sometimes they just have a bad day I guess. I would like to defy time and start over again with another book.

  7. Oh, come on…surely there’s something! I’d love to forget the Good Earth and the Grapes of Wrath, but they come to mind way too easily…

What do you think? I'd love to know.
